Mr. Vermillion began training in Shaolin Kempo Karate in 1995 under the tutelage of Noble Salerno. He continued his training under Salerno until 1998.
While attending college, he maintained his martial arts skills by continuing his practice of Shaolin Kempo Karate and experimenting with Kung Fu and Capoeira (African/Brazilian martial art). He even started a Shaolin Kempo Yahoo Group that still continues to field questions from the community at large.
In 2005 he returned to formal Shaolin Kempo Karate training under Master Anthony Russo at the Adojo Shaolin Kempo Karate Center. As a testament to his skills and personal training regimen, he earned his 1st degree black belt in June 2006. As a dedicated student of the martial arts, he continues to add to his skills by attending full contact fighting classes and other martial arts seminars across the country. He is also a member of the International Cane Masters Association.
As a non-commissioned officer in the military he works as a medic and is a certified Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician (NERMT). He works full-time as Drug Demand Reduction Educator in many communities in New Jersey. His task is to educate adults and children on the dangers of illicit drug use.
Mr. Vermillion teaches regularly at the center.
